Overcomers Society

Overcomers Society, Inc.

A Florida not-for-profit devoted to human dignity.

Stewarding Humanity's Living Autobiography — a voluntary, unranked, dignified record of authentic human stories.

Mission

Why we exist

To preserve authentic human stories, share wisdom freely, encourage lifelong growth, and strengthen communities through mentorship, education, service, and authentic acceptance.

The Society was founded on the conviction that no one has to overcome alone. Our work rests on six commitments — the pillars of the Society — and is carried out through storytelling, community, and stewardship.

The Six Pillars

Our commitments

Pillar 1

Every human being possesses inherent worth

Every person we meet is a whole life, deserving of dignity regardless of circumstance.

Pillar 2

Every person remains the author of their own story

No one is defined by their worst chapter. The pen belongs to the person holding it.

Pillar 3

Every human being can continue growing

Growth is not reserved for the young, the well, or the successful. It is available at every stage.

Pillar 4

Every experience in life only adds

Nothing that happened to you is wasted. It joined the material from which wisdom is made.

Pillar 5

We are responsible for hope

Hope is not a mood. It is a practice we owe one another.

Pillar 6

We strive to see the world through the next person's eyes

Understanding another person is the beginning of loving them well.

Story Preservation

Humanity's Living Autobiography

The Autobiography is the Society's central work: a voluntary, unranked, dignified archive of authentic human stories preserved for future generations.

Authors keep their stories. The Society keeps them safe. No leaderboards, no popularity contests, no public metrics of a human life.

Governance

Stewardship, not ownership

Overcomers Society, Inc. is a Florida not-for-profit corporation, founded by Toshin Samuels, and stewarded rather than owned. The Society's governing philosophy holds that the writings, stories, and community it preserves are not commodities. They are entrusted, and they are to be protected.

A Board of Directors is being formed to carry the Society's commitments to transparency, accountability, independence, and public trust.

Transparency

What we say and do not say

The Society commits to accuracy over presentation. Accordingly:

  • We do not claim federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt recognition until it is granted.
  • We do not claim programs, houses, chapters, or platforms are operational unless explicitly stated.
  • We do not publish testimonials, impact statistics, or partnerships we cannot verify.
  • We do not accept donations at this time.
