Your story belongs to you. These steps cover the most common reasons a member cannot get back in.
You signed up with Google
If you created your account using Google, no password was ever set for it. Return to sign in and choose Continue with Google, using the same Google account you registered with. Requesting a password reset will not help, and we will never ask you to create one to regain access.
Once you are signed in, you may add an email-and-password sign-in under Settings → Security, so you have a second way in.
You forgot your password
Use the password reset page. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder before requesting another message.
You no longer have access to your original email address
Recovery messages can only be sent to the address on the account, so an inaccessible mailbox must be resolved with your email provider first. If that is not possible, write to us from any address you control and describe the situation.
We verify identity before changing the email address on an account. Expect to be asked about details only the account holder would know — such as approximate registration date, your display name, or the content of unpublished material. We cannot promise recovery, and an account is never transferred without adequate verification.
Never send us your password, a complete verification code, or a recovery link. Our stewards will never ask for them, and we do not confirm whether any particular email address has an account.
